Title: Diminishing Memories II
Duration: 49mins
Film Languages: English, Mandarin, Teochew (Narrated in Mandarin with English & Chinese subtitles)

Dear Friends,

It has been a year since I started the journey of making my 2nd independent documentary- Diminishing Memories II. Yes, it is the sequel to my first creation, Diminishing Memories, and yes it is on Lim Chu Kang again.
I know you are probably thinking: "What? Lim Chu Kang again? Don't you have any other better topics to document?"
I had initially resisted the idea of making yet another film about my birth village- Lim Chu Kang. But the more I wanted to move on to other topics, the more I needed to make this sequel. You will know why when you watch Diminishing Memories II. :)

Here's a simple synopsis: A year after the completion of Diminishing Memories in 2005, the Singapore government announced plans to turn Lim Chu Kang into an agriculture-cum-entertainment attraction. This was the motivation behind Eng Yee Peng's sequel - Diminishing Memories II. For the first time in Singapore, chalets and spas will be built on farms. In Diminishing Memories II, Yee Peng sets out to visit the current Lim Chu Kang farming community to find out if the rustic charm of Lim Chu Kang be threatened by highly commercialised developments. In so doing, she is forced to face the deepest fear in her heart. Can she accept the much-changed Lim Chu Kang community and its evolving spirit?
Diminishing Memories II will make its world premiere at the 21st Singapore International Film Festival on 8th and 12th of April 2008. Direct link to film schedules & bookings- http://www.filmfest.org.sg/singapore-panaroma.php
